Faith in America: The Role of Women in Democratic Governance with Leymah Gbowee

April 5 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Please join Nobel Peace Prize winner, Leymah Gbowee, for a conversation about The Role of Women in Democratic Governance.

Many leaders in civil society acknowledge that incorporating women’s perspectives in the political process is one of the keys to building a strong democracy. But a focus on women’s voices, skills, knowledge, and leadership is not always a universal goal.

The opening phase of the Trump Administration provides an opportunity to reflect on the initial priorities of the President and his government, and its impact on democratic governance domestically and worldwide. Is this a time of changing democratic norms? What risks and opportunities are presented by the Administration’s priorities, and what does this mean for women’s lives and women’s participation?
