Harlem Impressions is a Harlem One Stop project which showcases Harlem’s spirit, liveliness and diversity through the lense of passionate photographers.
Harlem One Stop has invited four amateur photographers to showcase some of their work: Terrence Phearse, Nidal Qannari, Lonnie Richards and Lana Turner will share their impressions of Harlem.
Discussion with guest Jill Freedman.
Jill Freedman is a highly respected documentary photographer whose award-winning work is included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris, among others. Ms. Freedman is best known for her street and documentary photography, recalling the work of W. Eugene Smith, Dorothea Lange, and Cartier-Bresson. She lives and works on the Upper West Side of New York City.
Ms. Freedman has a current photo exhibition, through December 22nd, entitled Resurrection City at the Steven Kasher gallery in Chelsea.
