In the wake of the 2016 presidential election, Lala Wu ’07 decided to leave her career in law to pursue civic engagement. With the support of other like-minded women, Wu co-founded Sister District, a nonprofit dedicated to organizing and supporting progressive volunteers and voters.

“None of us intended to start a national organization,” Wu says. “I was the first person to make the leap, and I’ve never looked back.”
