Welcome to Class: American Monument Cultures

In the continuing series Welcome to Class, Elizabeth Hutchison, the Tow Associate Professor of Art History, discusses her class: American Monument Cultures. The course gives students an understanding of the complicated relationship of public monuments as they relate to assertion by those in power and the impact the experience of those who see them. This class also teaches students the importantance of art in the public space and how activism is changing the monumental landscape.
