2023 Bancroft Prizes in American History and Diplomacy

Join Columbia University Libraries for a program and reception to honor the 2023 recipients of the Bancroft Prizes in American History and Diplomacy. As reported by The New York Times, the winning works are:

  • G-Man: J. Edgar Hoover and the Making of the American Century by Beverly Gage (Viking, 2022)
  • Bad Mexicans: Race, Empire, and Revolution in the Borderlands by Kelly Lytle Hernández (W.W. Norton & Company, 2022)
  • The Sewing Girl’s Tale: A Story of Crime and Consequences in Revolutionary America by John Wood Sweet (Henry Holt & Company, 2022)

The program will be hosted by The Forum and Columbia University Libraries, in partnership with the Columbia University Department of History. Please register to attend by Monday, April 10.
