2023 TIME 100 Awardee Kate Orff Joins OHNY for Person Place Thing

“Historically, landscape architecture was concerned with the composition of private gardens, but Kate Orff is a landscape architect who’s never been hemmed in by garden walls—seeking instead to liberate landscape to do nothing less than repair our warming planet through design.” – Jeanne Gang for TIME Magazine
From waterfront public spaces and facilities to the groundbreaking Living Breakwaters resiliency infrastructure off the coast of Staten Island, Kate Orff and her firm, SCAPE Landscape Architecture, have been at the forefront of ecologically restorative and socially engaged design. She was awarded the MacArthur Foundation Fellowship in 2017 and was just named to the 2023 TIME 100 as one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
Award-winning writer Randy Cohen joins OHNY for Person Place Thing, an interview show based on the idea that people are most engaging when talking not about themselves, but something they care about. Featured guest Kate Orff will speak about one person, one place, and one thing that are important to her, for a unique conversation and surprising stories about her life and inspirations.

This conversation between Randy Cohen and Kate Orff will take place in-person at a meaningful place for Orff: the Central Park Arsenal. Join us and find out why.
Featuring live music by guitarist Adi Horodniceanu.
AIA CES credit (1 LU | HSW) is available for this program.
