Aging Solo in the City
Adults of every age are welcome. Light refreshments will be provided.
This presentation hosted by the Business and Professional Women’s Group will help solo agers—adults without the support of close family members—wisely prepare for and joyfully embrace aging solo. Presenter Wendl Kornfeld, a pioneer of the aging solo movement, will share how solo agers are developing their own demographic brand, why it’s an exciting time to be a solo, and practical ways to feel safer at home as well as “out and about.”
Since 2014 Wendl has been passionately sharing her model of Community as Family, an educational framework for solo agers –adults without the support of close family members. She has been interviewed by Forbes, Kaiser Health News, the NY Times, YouTube, and the Davis Financial Group. Wendl was honored to make presentations to the United Nations Committee on Aging, DOROT, Live On NY, the Jewish Board of Family & Children’s Services, and NY State Senator Liz Krueger’s Roundtable for Seniors and Boomers.
