All Souls Service
The Cathedral will observe All Souls Day with an Evensong service, sung by the renowned Cathedral Choir under the baton of Kent Tritle, Director, Cathedral Music.
The service will blend the Anglican traditions of Evensong with observance of el Día de Muertos, the Mexican and Indigenous American holiday that honors the memory of departed family, loved ones, and ancestors. The culturally-rich celebration can be traced back to the time of the Aztecs, 3,000 years ago.
Prior to the service, at 6:30 pm all are invited to a special gathering in the Cathedral’s Columbarium to reflect, remember, and celebrate our lives and the lives of the departed.
