For our inaugural Black Faculty Salon, join us as we discuss the current projects and recent publications of Monica L. Miller and Kim F. Hall. Learn more about the connections and distinctions throughout their research in English and Africana Studies.

Monica L. Miller is Ann Whitney Olin Professor of English and Africana Studies, and Dean of Faculty Diversity and Development. Professor Miller specializes in African-American and American literature and cultural studies. Her research interests include twentieth- and twenty-first-century African-American literature, film, and contemporary art; contemporary literature and cultural studies of the black diaspora; performance studies; and intersectional studies of race, gender, and sexuality.

Kim F. Hall is Lucyle Hook Professor of English, and Professor of Africana Studies. Professor Hall’s research and teaching cover Renaissance/Early Modern Literature and Culture, Critical Race Theory, Black Feminist Studies, Slavery Studies, Visual Culture, Food Studies, and Digital Humanities.

The Cite Black Barnard Initiative is designed to recognize the contributions Black Barnard faculty members have made to scholarship, public intellectual life, and the arts.
