Celebrating the Legacy of Dr. Dolores S. WIlliams: Portrait Blessing and Installation
Join the UTS community for an event honoring the legacy of Dr. Delores S. Williams, where a portrait commissioned by the Class of 2019 will be blessed by the community and permanently placed in a prominent academic hallway.
Dr. Williams earned her PhD from Union and later became the first Black woman to hold a named chair at the seminary as the Paul Tillich Professor of Theology and Culture. Her groundbreaking book, Sisters in the Wilderness: The Challenge of Womanist God-Talk, remains a crucial and influential text in womanist theological thought. Her profound legacy as an author, teacher, and revolutionary trailblazer of womanist theology will be reflected at this celebration.
