The Community Cookout was founded by bassist Endea Owens. Birthed as the result of the pandemic, The Community Cookout is an organization that creates inclusive spaces that are accessible to anyone no matter their race, gender, or background. The Community Cookout strives to make New York a better place through music, activism, and meals. The Marcus Garvey Park Alliance is a not-for-profit advocacy organization whose mission is to preserve and enhance the assets of Marcus Garvey Park by raising capital funds, producing and attracting cultural events and hosting plantings and maintenance activities.
