Thursday, November 14, 2024, 7:30PM
Miller Theatre at Columbia University

Acclaimed composer and saxophonist Miguel Zenón has earned a prestigious array of accolades, including fellowships from both the MacArthur and Guggenheim Foundations, a Grammy Award, and a Doris Duke Award. His impact on the world of music is wide-ranging, characterized by a compositional style that masterfully blends jazz with his many musical influences. For this Portrait an all-star large ensemble performs the New York premiere of Golden City, an important evening-length multimedia work created in tribute to the immigrant communities of San Francisco.
