CUIMC Celebrates Rosh Hashanah with Honey Distribution on Haven

Please join us on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 12:00 – 2:00 pm at Haven Plaza (Haven Ave & Fort Washington Avenue) as we celebrate Rosh Hashanah.

Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, is one of Judaism’s holiest days. Meaning “head of the year” or “first of the year”. Rosh Hashanah commemorates the creation of the world and marks the beginning of the Days of Awe, a 10-day period of introspection and repentance that culminates with Yom Kippur, also known as the Day of Atonement. Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are the two “High Holy Days”.

Rosh Hashanah 2023 begins at sundown on Friday, September 15, 2023 and ends on the evening of Sunday, September 17, 2023.

Apples and honey symbolize the sweetness of the New Year.

*Honey will be supplied from a vendor at CUIMC’s Farmer’s Market and individually packaged for safe distribution.

ALL ARE WELCOME TO JOIN!
