E-Moves: Ronald K. Brown/EVIDENCE
Harlem Stage’s signature dance series E-Moves presents Ronald K. Brown/EVIDENCE performing four riveting works including Palo y Machete, a captivating excerpt from the evening-length work One Shot, a tribute to the legendary photographer Charles “Teenie” Harris who was known for capturing his subjects in one click of the camera; March, a powerful duet set to a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s speech which illustrates the physical story of perseverance, dignity, and the collective strength of care-taking; Upside Down, an excerpt from the evening-length work Destiny, a striking ensemble piece that reflects on what drives a person towards their destiny, and Hair Ties, a special presentation by emerging choreographer Joya Powell that’s inspired by America’s fear of Black power and beauty.
