Engaging Youth Voices In Our Democracy

Gen Z is showing up to vote at higher rates than prior generations did at similar ages, and yet there are profound inequities in participation. What can youth power-building look like during this election cycle? How can our political discourse better address the concerns of young voters? How can we overcome barriers to participation?

The Athena Film Festival invites high school and college youth to join us for a brunch and interactive dialogue, “Engaging Youth Voices In Our Democracy.” Taking place on Sunday, March 3 from 10am-11:45am at Barnard College, the program will feature the voices of high school, college, and young professional leaders, as well as interactive table conversations and the opportunity to build new connections.

At the event, participants will also receive a free ticket to one of the following films, each playing directly following the program at 12pm on Sunday, March 3.

Join us for an important—exciting—conversation!
