Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Ukrainian Film Club of Columbia University will hold the New York premiere of the comedy Lessons of Tolerance, 2023, director Arkadii Nepytaliuk. Yuri Shevchuk, Director of the Ukrainian Film Club, will introduce the movie and hold the post-screening Q-and-A.

A determined small-town schoolteacher is on a mission to rescue her family from financial ruin by enrolling her homophobic family in the governmental “Lessons of Tolerance” program, promoted within the process of Ukraine’s integration with the European Union. As they embark on this transformative journey, the family finds themselves welcoming a vibrant LGBTQ activist into their home, who will challenge their deep-seated prejudices.
