The Harlem Meer Performance Festival: The Rakiem Walker Project
The Rakiem Walker Project is a collective of musicians and vocalists that has developed a renowned signature sound, well-known in the tristate area. Led by Walker and lead vocalist GLRYA, this organization of musicians has thirsted for a community of musical like-mindedness. Walker has been the music director for Teddy Riley, Cam’ron, Eric Benét, Melba Moore, Freddie Jackson, CL Smooth, Timbuktu (Sweden’s major artist), and others. Walker has worked with, and played saxophone for, Roy Ayers, Gil Scott-Heron, RZA, SWV, Keith Sweat, Dipset, and Lehman College Jazz Band, among others. He is a voting member of the Recording Academy.
