Harlem’s Hip Hop and Lindy Hop Connections

Harlem has been Hopping – in 2 Ways! First there was Lindy Hop and then 40 years later there was Hip Hop with Break Dancing moves reminiscent of the earlier famous dance. So is there a cultural connection – and how?
On this 50th anniversary year of Hip Hop, join us as we view film clips and discuss Harlem’s rich legacy to both of these cultural genres specializing in dance and movement. Uniquely both of these dance art forms can be done to a variety of music from the 20th century to today. So join us for history, music and fun!
