“Reducing High School Dropout Rates through Big Data Analytics and Early Warning Systems”
High school dropout remains a persistent issue in K-12 education, with significant consequences for both individuals and society. This presentation will discuss how big data analytics and early warning systems can be leveraged to identify at-risk students early and implement targeted interventions to support them. Specifically, predictive analytics techniques can be applied to academic, attendance, behavioral, assessment, and other student data to develop models that flag students in danger of dropping out. These early warning systems allow educators to see which students are most in need of intervention.
The presentation will provide evidence that using analytics-driven early warning systems combined with targeted, data-driven interventions can lead to significant reductions in high school dropout rates. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of how to harness the power of data to address this important educational challenge in their schools and districts.
