In The Time Of Butterflies

Harlem Stage and Repertorio Español come together again to present En El Tiempo de las Mariposas/ In The Time of Butterflies, a riveting play based on Julia Álvarez’s best-selling novel. It tells a fictionalized story of the courageous Mirabal sisters from the Dominican Republic. The sisters, Patria, Minerva, and María Teresa inspired resistance throughout the country against the brutal dictator Rafael Trujillo’s regime. The “butterflies,” their secret code name, were assassinated by the regime in 1960. The play will be presented in Spanish with English supertitles. Tickets are FREE.
