Juneteenth: The Sounds of Freedom

Through participatory arts practices, including music, poetry, and activism, we will explore the sounds of freedom and learn about the holiday of Juneteenth. June 19, 1865 is the day that commemorates the end of slavery in the U.S. and true freedom and independence for all Americans. Join us as we discuss the concept of liberation. “Are we really free?” Learn to create your own emancipatory arts practice.

This program is in support of MOIA English Learning & Support at the NYPL.
