Metropolitan Hospital Center’s Community Advisory Board: Annual J. Edward Shaw Legislative Breakfast
The Metropolitan Hospital Center’s (MHC) Community Advisory Board (CAB) is having their annual Legislative Breakfast on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Draper Hall, located at 1918 First Avenue (directly across from MHC).
This year’s theme of our 2025 J. Edward Shaw Legislative Breakfast is Expanding Health Care Services in 2025 is important to us all, and in particular to those of us in our beloved East Harlem community, because as we know, communities such as ours are so very impacted by a myriad of health challenges and we all must strive to ensure that health care is not only a priority but that it remains available to us all. And, as MHC is a community hospital, committed to providing high-quality care for residents of East Harlem and the surrounding communities, which are historically disadvantaged, we all must work towards supporting the hospital, and we all must ensure that our elected officials continue to support the hospital as well. As such, this Legislative Breakfast is when we will hear from our elected officials and use this as an opportunity to educate and update us on pending proposed City, State, and Federal legislation or budget issues that my impact the hospital community.
This event is open to all! We look forward to breaking bread with You!
Respectfully, Jewel Jones, CAB Chair
