Music Monday featuring the Harlem Chamber Players, hosted by Tania Leon

Music Monday is a free and open-to-the public monthly concert series taking place in The Forum‘s ground-floor Atrium.

The October event will be a special performance, presented in partnership with Composers Now The Harlem Chamber Players.

In year two of Cheswatyr Commissions, Composers Now will present the world premiere of Alyssa Regent’s “The Island Before Open Water” (2023), which will be performed by the Harlem Chamber Players. Bora Yoon served as the composer mentor for Ms. Regent and will perform her own music and a piece by Meredith Monk. Complementing these works will be chamber music by Missy Mazzoli and Julia Wolfe, also performed by the Harlem Chamber Players.

Tania León, Pulitzer Prize Winner, recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors in 2022, named as the Debs Creative Chair for the current season at Carnegie Hall and founder/artistic director of Composers Now, hosts this hour-long celebration of living composers and their music.

Cheswatyr Commissions is a commissioning, mentorship and professional development initiative of Composers Now, underwritten by the Cheswatyr Foundation.

RSVP encouraged. Seating is first-come, first-served.
