Music Monday: The Henry Paul Trio
Music Monday is a free and open-to-the public monthly concert series hosted by The Forum. Concerts take place in The Forum’s ground-floor Atrium on Monday evenings.
The August event will feature an encore performance from The Henry Paul Trio — players from the vibrant and forward-looking Louis Armstrong Jazz Performance Program. This on-campus program brings together the many talented and creative jazz players at Columbia University, providing lessons and ensemble practice that incorporate a wide array of stylistic and rhythmic designs. Columbia’s strength is its interdisciplinary approach to jazz studies, and the LAJPP is a central part of a larger mission which sees jazz as a music without borders and a mode for integrating scholarly inquiry with innovative teaching and community dialogue.
The Henry Paul Trio features Henry Paul (piano), Colson Jimenez (bass), and Shado Atlys (drums).
