Music Mondays: Miró Quartet
Daniel Ching, violin
William Fedkenheuer, violin
John Largess, viola
Joshua Gindele, cello
One of America’s most celebrated string quartets, the “impressive” Miró Quartet (New York Times) is beloved for their interpretations of the classics as well as new music. They share both in a program featuring Beethoven’s final quartet, op. 135, alongside Caroline Shaw’s new Microfictions and Kevin Puts’s Home, inspired by the refugee crisis and photographs of displaced families searching for a new home. “In the Miró’s performance, all of the notes are delivered with remarkable precision and intra-ensemble timing that resemble the workings of a finely calibrated timepiece….” (Fanfare)
