Some things die
barren tree branches, winter months

This piece is a conglomerate of three smaller studies I have done in recent times. I use the word studies more intentionally than I use the word piece. They are tied together by the pandemic and the emerging aesthetics and questions I find murmuring in my heart/stomach space, on the tip of my lips, in the furrows of my brow, in my blank stares downward…

Some of these questions I haven’t been able to match with words, though we communicate in different ways. Some of these questions I have been able to match with words, but if you will forgive me, I’m not quite ready to out them and myself. Some of these questions are not questions at all; where the roads get rocky…

Oddly enough, I’ve always loved to ride my thin bike wheels over them tore up roads

I have tried to find ways to say and demonstrate how this can relate to your life, to our cultural climate; how it is a play on my values as they interact with others’ values… I will fret no longer because I fear dishonesty; this is a choice. I see an artistic sharing such as this as one of many windows and doors towards conversation, intimate messy human interaction, and physical and metaphysical dialogue. When the lights go up or down when there is applause, a sudden or slow evacuation of the performance space, those windows and doors open fully and allow for multi-directional travel.

Talk to me.

I have a growing interest in video because it is time.

Intimacy was on my mind at the impetus of this project.
I consider this from the perspective of a black queer presenting body
