Planning for a Good Goodbye: Death Cafe
Join us at Riverside for our in-person “Planning for a Good Goodbye” Sunday series July 14, 21, 28, 2024 at 1:30PM. This series aims to offer comfort and guidance in navigating death and life beyond it.
Here’s what we have planned:
July 14: Death Cafe – Please join us for a discussion of death as we drink tea and eat cake. Our objective is ‘to increase awareness of death with a view of helping people make the most of their (finite) lives.’ A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counseling session. This is an opportunity to increase awareness and make the most of life. (Onsite only, please register in advance.
July 21: Preparing Your Own Obituary – What would you want said about you? What is your favorite scripture? Your favorite hymn? Join a supportive community to plan your homegoing service. (Onsite only, please register in advance.)
July 28: Fill Out New York Advanced Directives – Complete the MOLST (Medical Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment) form, Power of Attorney, and Ethical Will with guidance from experts. (Onsite only, please register in advance.)
Don’t miss this opportunity to explore, reflect, and prepare for life’s inevitable transitions with a community of support.
