Short Plays to Nourish the Mind & Soul
After a pause due to the COVID 19 Pandemic, this beloved program bringing professional theatre for adults returns to Harlem and the George Bruce Library.
Two Short Plays written and directed by Cesi Davidson and performed by Tara Troy. Ms. Troy demonstrates amazing skill and grace as she portrays multiple characters in these stories of Black women who make ordinary actions extraordinary.
Curbside Pickup: Grandma Joyce’s stellar career as a day care worker has an unexpected turn when she makes a decision to discipline a child.
Miss. Grier Rises: Dr. Eliza Ann Grier was the first Black woman licensed to practice medicine in the state of Georgia. Her journey to become a doctor required courage, perseverance, and many seasons picking cotton.
The performance will be followed by post-show conversation and special grab bag gifts for senior citizens.
