Two-Way Translational Cancer Research to Combat Cancer

HYBRID SEMINAR

“Two-Way translational cancer research to combat cancer” — a hybrid seminar by Hamied Faculty Fellow, Hari Sagiraju, MD, MPH, PhD, Assistant Professor, Preventive Oncology, National Cancer Institute-AIIMS, New Delhi, India. This seminar is presented in the Epidemiology Department’s Chronic Disease Epidemiology Series.

Currently in low- and middle-income countries, translational research in cancer is mostly focused towards prognostication and treatment decision making, thus limiting it from Bench to Bedside only. However, there is greater need for translation of cancer research findings from Bench & Bedside to the Community with focused efforts through a range of different interventions (Educational, Behavioral, Policy-based) aimed at risk reduction, early diagnosis and cancer prevention. Evidence based implementation research is needed to combat rapidly increasing cancer in these low resource settings.

This is a hybrid seminar.  To register for the link to attend via Zoom, please email Caitlin Hawke: cmh2197@cumc.columbia.edu.
