Cathedral Community Cares has so many friends and neighbors to thank this month for supporting the incredible work they do. This month especially, the Cathedral has been hard at work providing vital resources and social services to our Morningside Heights community — including COVID-19 testing and a designated Socks and Sneakers fundraiser. We could not have achieved any of the great success we’ve seen this month without the help of the following:
+ The Cathedral School, parents, and Chaplin Gina Gore for their charitable donation to CCC from the Winter $1 Dress Down Day and their wonderful assistance in purchasing sneakers for our Closet.
+ Chelsea Lighting, Theresa McNamara, and Thomas Ike for presenting CCC with a generous monetary donation and a wonderful collection of sneakers and clothing for our Closet.
+ NYC Health + Hospitals for providing several weeks of free COVID-19 testing inside the Cathedral, as well as providing free testing to all Cathedral staff.
+ Congregation of St. Saviour for their donation of hats, scarves, gloves and hygiene products to our Sunday clients.
+ Dr. Theresa Thornton and her fantastic mobile COVID-19 test team who spent their day off providing COVID-19 tests to our clients and community.
+ Jessica from Career Gear, a new friend to the Closet. Career Gear had a need for interview shirts and CCC had a need for men’s jeans and shorts. We are so happy that we were able to make a mutually beneficial trade with Career Gear to ensure all of our clients have their needs met.
+ When CCC received a phone call from CrossRoads in need of sandwiches after a stove malfunction, we were able to provide them with plenty of prepped food and sandwiches. As a thank-you, they sent us tremendous boxes of cashews, hygiene kits, and saniwipes for our clients.
+ Tommy and Emilio Camponigro for gracing our CCC office on Sunday with an amazing floral arrangement to welcome our clients and to welcome spring!
+ Ronell and Marcin Kirkley for their generous monetary donation of to our Sunday Meal Program.
A huge thank-you to everyone who has contributed to the CCC’s hard work. To get involved: https://www.stjohndivine.org/education/community/
