Support for the rights of immigrants is woven into the history of the Cathedral. Our Chapels of the Tongues honor and commemorate many of the nationalities and cultures of immigrants to the United States at the time of our first phase of construction, in the early 1900s. Now, we’re proud to stand with a broad coalition of activists and organizers continuing the fight for immigrant workers’ rights. This morning, demonstrators from Make the Road took to the Cathedral steps to demand government support amidst the ongoing pandemic. Visit fundexcludedworkers.org for more info on how to help support our immigrant neighbors and community members through the COVID pandemic.
