The Delacorte Center for Magazine Journalism is hosting Nikole Hannah-Jones, New York Times Magazine staff writer, and Jamelle Bouie, New York Times opinion columnist, to discuss the seminal 1619 Project. Hannah-Jones created and led the project, an effort in the New York Times Magazine to rethink American slavery as foundational to American democracy. The project featured many acclaimed writers, including Bouie. Jelani Cobb, Ira A. Lipman Professor of Journalism and New Yorker staff writer, will moderate the discussion.
