Speaker Bio: Dr. Hsu is the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan) with responsibility for relations with the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia and the Pacific. He was President of the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy from 2016 to 2018; associate research fellow at the Institute of Political Science at Academia Sinica in Taipei from 2003 to 2017; and assistant research fellow at the Institute of International Relations at National Chengchi University from 1998 to 2003. He also taught at Chinese Culture University in Taipei from 1997 to 1998, and National Tsing Hua University in Hsinchu from 2003 to 2017. Dr. Hsu received his B.A. in Political Science from National Taiwan University, and M.A. and Ph.D in Political Science from Columbia University.
