A Teacher’s Toolkit: Session 1 of 3

This three-part series aims to support early-career teachers who are facing a myriad of daunting challenges during their first few years in the classroom. Even after years of teacher education, many teachers find themselves unprepared for the rigors of the job. While university-based coursework, student teaching, and even edTPA certainly help pre-service teachers establish a foundation of sound practical and philosophical practice, there simply is no substitute for the on-the-job learning that occurs once teachers take the helm of their own classrooms. Over three sessions, A Teacher’s Toolkit will provide newly in-service teachers with frameworks and venues designed to support their professional, intellectual, and psychic growth.
