Title: Diffusion of new products in social networks

Abstract: Diffusion of new products that mainly spread through word-of-mouth is a classical problem in Marketing. This problem falls under the category of spreading on a graph, but it has unique characteristics that set it apart from e.g., spreading of diseases. In this talk, I will discuss how the diffusion is affected by the network structure, physical boundaries, temporal effects, and consumers’ heterogeneity.
