Congo in Harlem Festival
October 16 - October 31Free
Congo in Harlem is an annual series of films and special events at Maysles Documentary Center,
focused on the history, politics, and culture of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
It is the flagship event of CONGO WEEK, launched by Friends of the Congo.
Each year we present a diverse program that challenges assumptions and encourages critical thinking,
but most importantly, we want people to have fun! Congo in Harlem is more than just movies and discussions —
it’s an opportunity to discover Congo’s culture, learn about its challenges, and get involved.
This year’s series of films and special events will be presented online October 16th-31st for FREE to the general public world-wide! Please check out the amazing lineup and share the news far and wide. Links below with more information. Don’t miss the special Panel Discussion: The Impact of Belgian Colonization on the Congo including panelists Adam Hochschild (King Leopold’s Ghost) and Princess Esmeraldo from the Belgian Royal Family!
