Why do world leaders view climate change as the top global
security threat, even greater than terrorism and cyber warfare?
We’ll review how climate is changing, how we know that this
change is mostly due to human activities, and what the near
future looks like. Echoing the scientific community, the global
finance, military, and intelligence communities also support
urgent climate action because of its destabilizing effects on the
economy, sustainability, and security. The scale and urgency of
the challenge ahead is daunting, but there are both near- and
long-term solutions that we will highlight.
