STEAM in the City: The Power of Partnership

STEAM in the City, an initiative powered by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), Barnard College, and the office of Community Engagement, is a training program for K-8 grade teachers working in the Harlem and Morningside Heights neighborhoods. The program provides local teachers instruction and curriculum in science, technology, engineering, the arts and math (STEAM) they can take back to their own classrooms and students. In the initial week-long session at Barnard College, the teacher spent time in Morningside Park, the Design Center and bee colony on campus, and engaged in many hands on activities in the classroom.
