“I am still very happy with my decision to get the vaccine, but I understand it is a personal decision for each pregnant woman to make. I have spoken with many colleagues, family, and friends about my decision, but also support them in their own decisions. I encourage everyone to read the research and ask questions to medical providers and not to believe every news headline.”

Lauren is scheduled to receive her second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on January 19… 5 days after her due date! But she’s taking the situation in stride, joking, “I might have to coordinate with the POD if I am in labor on the day I am supposed to get my vaccine!”

We will check in with Lauren to see how everything works out. In the meantime, help us say congratulations and wish her good luck—she may have an extra exciting week!

If you are pregnant or of child-bearing age and have concerns about getting the COVID-19 vaccine, we encourage you to speak to your OBGYN or primary care physician before receiving your vaccine.
