Column Module 1 1

The RISE Together Mentorship Network was founded in 2017, as a thriving in ministry initiative, funded by the Lilly Endowmnet Inc. RISE Together, a female mentorship network, anchored at Union Theological Seminary,  connects women of color seminary students and early to mid-career clergy to experienced women ministers, senior pastors, faculty, and community leaders. The application to apply for the third cohort of RISE Together mentees and mentors is now available. The application deadline is Wednesday, December 15.

Each regional cohort – Atlanta, GA, Chicago, IL, Lancaster, PA, Nashville, TN, New York City, NY, Northern California (San Francisco, Contra Costa, Oakland), Richmond, VA, Washington, DC, – will include cross-cultural, ecumenical, and interdisciplinary mentors and 12-15 mentees. This is a two-year commitment, beginning in September 2022, of female-centered community support, sisterhood, and empowerment. Accepted RISE applicants should plan to attend the National Virtual Gathering, The Power of Our Voices, in March 2022.

RISE Together cohort members, both mentees and mentors, can expect dynamic monthly gatherings and opportunities for leadership development and spiritual formation. Every other year, in collaboration with our network partners, a National RISE Together Leadership Conference is hosted in one of our RISE Together regions. At present, cohorts are expected to meet virtually, with the hope of moving to in-person gatherings soon. Accepted RISE participants will be required to adhere to any COVID-19 guidelines, based on the host institutions’ visitor policy for in-person gatherings.
