Sept. 19, 1982 | On this day, 37 years ago, The New York Times wrote, “Ashley Putnam, a 29-year old soprano who happened to be in the audience, took to the stage at Lincoln Center yesterday and, to great ovations, completed a matinee of ‘La Traviata’ after the soprano singing the lead fell ill during the performance.”

That very same Ashley Putnam is now an esteemed member of the MSM voice faculty!
