The breathtaking rose window on the west entrance of St. John the Divine. The window was designed by Charles Connick of Boston who worked with Cram on many of his buildings. Connick perfected the art of the medevial style of glassmaking and his firm flourished into the middle part of the 20th century. The Connick studios closed in 1987 due to the high rises in the back bay blocking out the much needed natural sunlight in the studio. Their last piece was a clerestory window for All Saints in Brookline. Though Connick’s studio is gone much of inventory of the studio has been preserved in the Boston Public Library and the Massachettus Institute of Technology archives.
