This session will delve into the rich history of Black women’s relationship with money, tracing back to the early days of the nation. We’ll explore the foundational role of money in American society, the impact of the Freedman’s Bank on newly emancipated citizens, and the birth of Wall Street, including contributions by Black women often left untold. We’ll discuss historical events like the founding of Black Wall Street, examining the money mindset and financial strategies found within the Black community. This journey through the past will reveal enduring lessons on resilience and resourcefulness.

Black Women in Today’s Economy – Walking the Gauntlet

In our second session, we’ll assess the current financial climate for Black women, drawing on data from the Ariel Schwab Black Investor Survey. We’ll unpack trends in stock and crypto investments, dissecting how Black women engage with these assets today. Addressing prevalent money and crypto myths, this session aims to reshape misconceptions and reinforce a positive financial mindset. Attendees will gain insights into the unique challenges and triumphs of Black women in modern finance, setting the stage for a conversation on future opportunities.

Navigating the Future – Creating Indestructible Wealth in the New Economy

Focusing on the future, this session will make a compelling case for why traditional investing avenues alone are not sufficient for building long-lasting wealth. Leveraging insights from Digital Money Demystified, we’ll discuss the transformative potential of the crypto and digital asset economy for Black women. The discussion will cover strategies for creating ‘indestructible wealth’ and the importance of embracing innovation in the digital age. Attendees will leave with actionable knowledge to navigate and capitalize on the burgeoning opportunities in digital finance.
