The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine’s Cathedral Community Cares (CCC) initiative aims to “combat and alleviate poverty through preventative poverty services, education and and advocacy-specifically targeting the issues of health and hunger.” The program aims to address the needs of the underserved as well as tackle policy solutions in the long run to create a greater community and be a better aid to its clients.The Center’s Food Stamp Program offers per-screening for those interested in receiving Food Stamps, and recertifies those already involved.

Additionally, the Cathedral’s Nutrition, Health, and Clothing Center provides periodic health screenings for areas such as diabetes, hypertension, and mammogram per-screening, among other health issues. CCC hosts an annual health fair in the summertime, joining with other health providers to raise awareness on an abundance of health topics.
