Today, March 30, is National Doctors’ Day. As patients and staff celebrate doctors across the country, we would like to recognize the incredible work of our physicians at Mount Sinai Morningside.

Today, we pay tribute to the many talented physicians on our staff and salute their dedication and service to our hospitals and our communities, every day, but especially today, especially now, as the COVID-19 crisis continues. We also pay tribute to the physicians who came before us, who pioneered life-saving medical innovations that changed our way of life. In doing so, we recognize and pay tribute to the physicians tirelessly working now to develop life-saving medical treatments, and, perhaps one day, a cure for COVID-19.

The COVID-19 pandemic has presented new challenges for each of us, but the collective actions and determined response are our physicians are proof of their skill and resilience. Although it is certainly a difficult time to be a doctor, it is also a remarkable time. The brave sacrifices you have made over the past year, risking your lives to care for our patients, are truly admirable. When we needed you most, you put your well-being and self-interests aside to protect your fellow New Yorkers.

Today, we recognize all our doctors who courageously and compassionately treat their patients, find treatments and cures for the new diseases and illnesses we face, and never waver in their efforts to treat every patient with the dignity, respect, and empathy they deserve.

On behalf of your colleagues, your patients, and the leadership at Mount Sinai Morningside: Thank you.
