The girls’ varsity basketball team ended their winning season with a thrilling game in early March. This was a particularly challenging season (weather-related schedule changes and injuries) but the team rallied and won 11 out of 12 games. The team displayed indomitable spirit and eagerness to hone their skills. Coach Ricky Forde pointed out, “They continued learning techniques from the foundation of the junior varsity level, developing a pressure defense while keeping the ball in motion during offense. They are well-positioned to compete when they move on to high school and later, college.”
The boys’ varsity A and B teams ended with a 5-10 record, with several moving on to play on their high school teams next year. The seventh graders look forward to leading Bank Street boys varsity basketball next year.
