From The President: January 2012

Hello and welcome to Bank Street College 2012. Bank Street has been a New York institution for almost 100 years (the Centennial is in 2016-17).  As we approach our second 100 years, I celebrate the hard work and dedication of the faculty, staff, and trustees of the College. In the last year we have taken some structural steps to focus our mission. Lastly, in the newly established Office of the Dean of the College we are working to strengthen Bank Street’s influence as a hub of research and related policy work all tied to the education of children and the preparation of teachers and teacher/leaders.As we begin this new year, we continue to refine our new website in order to better inform the public about life at Bank Street. One of the best ways to learn about us is to visit our main building in New York City (112th Street between Broadway and Riverside Drive). Touring the School for Children is an extraordinary way to see our values at work, and can be arranged by contacting Ronnie Sampson at rsampson@bankstreet.edu. Our Library—which houses one
