Passing the Torch: Bank Street’s Outstanding Service Award

Each Fall and Spring, Bank Street presents the Outstanding Service Award. Sponsored by Human Resources and Staff Council, the award goes to a non-teaching staff member who has shown considerable dedication to the College.
This spring, at a recent All-College meeting, Bank Street recognized the exceptional service of Devindra (“Chris”) Jagmohan. A longtime member of the Information Technology department, Chris has consistently provided responsive, speedy Help Desk support for the entire College community.
Cheryl Simon, who was awarded the first Outstanding Service Award in Fall 2011, congratulates her friend and colleague.
Congratulations to Chris!
As the first recipient of this award, I find it a humbling experience to know that our fellow staff members do recognize us. I would be hard pressed to imagine someone more deserving of that honor than Chris.
All during the time we have worked together, Chris has always shown such dedication to, and poise in, performing whatever task he has been given. I don’t know whether he likes the spotlight or likes to stay out of it, but this is the time we need to urge him to just bask in the glory.
Chris has always been responsive to all IT questions, and takes the time to walk people through all the challenges that face them. I know there are some of his fellow IT’ers (Greg Russell, for one) who have seen Chris grow from just the voice at the Help Desk, to one of the go-to-persons—the ones who always get things moving.
