Today we honor the Rev. Cheryl D. Miller, M. Div. '95, a designer, author, theologian, and advocate of Black graphic designers. She established one of the first Black-women-owned design firms in New York City in 1984 and published her memoir "Black Coral: A Daughter's Apology to her Asian Island Mother" in 2013. Currently curating The History of Black Graphic Design in North America, an open-source database, Rev. Miller will receive an honorary doctorate from the Vermont College of Fine Arts in February.
