Morningside Area Alliance (“MAA”) has brought the leadership of the area’s institutions together since 1947. Its core values are Communication, Collaboration, and Community. These virtues are expressed through the association’s active efforts to foster a culture of collaboration among it membership of globally-recognized nonprofits. Members include: Barnard College, Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, Columbia University, Corpus Christi Church, Grant Houses, Interchurch Center, International House, Jewish Theological Seminary, Manhattan School of Music, Mt. Sinai Morningside, The Riverside Church, St. Hilda’s & St. Hugh’s, Teachers College, and Union Theological Seminary.

MAA’s principal activities are:

  • Host and engage in networking and communities of practice among staff of member institutions.
  • Promote the public programs of member institutions.
  • Community engagement.
  • Facilitate and support cross-institutional collaborations.

During its storied history, MAA has served as a catalyst and incubator for initiatives that are “better done together.”
